Catherine is a writer of commercial fiction.
“I’m fascinated by women’s stories – the struggle to find ourselves when we’re young, and the life-long fight to hold on to that person amidst the career / family / life juggle.”
About
Catherine is an emerging writer and avid long-distance walker.
As a fresh-faced university graduate, her ambition was to have a job in the city with a car space, an office, a PA and a company credit card, but after ticking off the vacuous trimmings of so-called success, she realised there was more to life than harbour views.
After a career in economics and corporate strategy, Catherine took a sideways step to try life in the slow lane. She now combines her career as an economic consultant with writing fiction.
“When a friend shared an excerpt from her manuscript, I realised that people like me could actually write a book.”
Catherine enrolled in a Creative Writing course with Bernadette Foley at the Australian Writers Centre, and was immediately hooked. She now has a completed manuscript, several courses under her belt, and a wonderfully supportive writing group, the ALL WRiTE CLUB.
Catherine is currently pitching her first novel.
Her first short story was published in 2023.

“It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a married woman in possession of a large number of (small) children, must be in want of a life” (with apologies to Jane Austen)
Suze escapes her young family to walk Scotland’s West Highland Way with her friend Kate, and finally has space and time to question her life choices. As they share their struggles to balance careers and family, secrets are revealed that will destroy friendships and marriages. But Suze has her own secret. Reinventing herself as successful publisher Lucy, she finds out what life could be like if she were brave enough to start again. The question is, how much will Suze give up in her search for happiness?
What would you do for love?
Under development
What is a life worth? Who gets to decide when the cost is too great? Catherine’s second novel explores the lengths to which a mother and daughter will go, to protect each other when their terminally ill husband and father is murdered.
